So had a bit of upheaval at work the past couple weeks. Got told last Thursday that Lara (who was helping to run all three related creches) wanted to come back and only work at Gemini to teach. Sooo, because she's older, wiser, is a qualified teacher and has opperated her own preschool, she ended up with the Bambies. The Bambies used to be mine.

I was so resentful last week. I cried for about two days. The idea of leaving the Bambies was heart-breaking. And it's silly, I wasn't fired, after all. No, not fired. Just moved.

I'm now in the baby room. Hah.

I resented it so much, being moved there. I mean, I love the babies. They're cute and loveable. But they're not the Bambies. They're not the kids I've given pretty much every fibre of my soul to for the past six months. They're not the ones I grew so attached to.

But, I do want to keep earning money. And the up side is that I get to work outside in the afternoons with the bigger kids, so I'm not completely cut off from the Bambies. I just can't teach them.

I've worked in the baby room for a week now. And I've surprised myself. It's actually fun. I'm actually enjoying it. It's easier, it's calmer. And there's something about being responsible for little ones that depend on you 100% for survival in those hours they're with you. It's almost overwhelming, the trust they have. It's the same thing I noticed with Xavier when he was a baby.

I took my camera to the creche yesterday and took some photos of the kids. Uploaded all fifteen today, so you can take a look at my new charges. It's not all of them. I didn't get a decent one of Jason or Lesego, and Keratiloe wasn't there. But you get the idea.

It's a learning experience I'll have to take in my stride.

I think my next step would be becoming a life-orientation teacher for high school learners. XD

P.S. I want to get a new camera, one that doesn't pixellate the image when the light isn't quite good enough.
P.P.S. I gave up caffeine two weeks ago. OMG.
